Fredonia Mayor Mike Ferguson credits remediation work performed on the shoreline of Canadaway Creek last summer for helping prevent substantial flooding in the village during what he called a "very strange, weird weather weekend." The remediation project is being led by the Lake Erie Management Commission and is funded by the New York State DEC, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, and Chautauqua County's 2% Occupancy Tax.
