
The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a flash flood warning for a portion of Chautauqua County until 12:30 PM. At 7:03 AM, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Dunkirk, Fredonia, Westfield, Silver Creek, Mayville, Lake Erie State Park, SUNY Fredonia, Chautauqua Institution, Findley Lake, Chautauqua, Portland, Sheridan, Ripley, Stockton, Brocton, Mina, Arkwright, Sherman, Forestville and Cassadaga.
