Jamestown Police this week arrested a Cattaraugus County man who had an active parole absconder warrant. Officers were patrolling a neighborhood on the city's north side at about 2:00 AM Tuesday, when they saw a suspicious person trespassing. The male, who was later identified as 30-year-old Tyler Evans, allegedly provided a false name and then fled on foot. After a brief foot chase, Evans was apprehended and taken to the Jamestown City. Officers say Evans was also found to be in possession of a small quantity of fentanyl. He was charged with 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and 2nd-degree criminal impersonation, in addition to his warrant. Evans is currently being held in the Chautauqua County Jail.
