Over $216 Million in Summer EBT Funds Distributed to New York Children

More than 1.8 million low-income children in New York State have benefitted from more than $216 million in food assistance as part of this year's Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) program. Governor Kathy Hochul, who made the announcement on Tuesday, says when the program is completed, approximately $240 million will have been issued to nearly two million school-aged children...

won't have to deal with the specter of going hungry

The federally funded Summer EBT program provides $120 per child to eligible families to help pay for healthy food during the summer months when many children lose access to free school meals. Hochul says most eligible children receive their benefits automatically, but some families may need to apply. The deadline is September 8th.
