A report of a shoplifting in progress at a Jamestown supermarket late Wednesday morning led to the arrest of a city woman. Jamestown Police were called to Tops Markets on Washington Street shortly after 10:00 AM and were told that the suspect was behind another business on Washington Street and walking south. Officers located the female, identified as 26-year-old Alexis Wakefield, and discovered that she allegedly stole property belonging to the store and was previously trespassed from the business. Wakefield was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail to be held on charges of 3rd-degree burglary and petit larceny.
