A Ripley woman is facing drunk driving charges following an investigation into a one-vehicle crash in the Town of Gerry on Friday. Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene on Route 60 shortly after 8:30 PM and identified the driver as 43-year-old Shannon Smith. Deputies say Smith was found to have a blood alcohol content more than twice the legal limit. She was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI (BAC .18% or higher), consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and moving from lane unsafely. Smith is scheduled to appear in Gerry Town Court at a later date.
