More than 170 Jamestown Community College students gained valuable hands-on experience through internships during the fall 2025, spring 2026 and summer 2026 semesters, helping them connect classroom learning with real-world career opportunities. Students completed internships with dozens of businesses, organizations, health care providers, school districts and community agencies throughout Western New York, northwestern Pennsylvania and beyond. Through these experiences, students applied knowledge from their academic programs, developed professional skills, expanded their networks, and explored potential career paths.
JCC Career Services Director Julie Page says, "Internships provide students with opportunities to learn outside the classroom while building confidence and career readiness. These experiences help students understand what working in their chosen field is really like and often lead to valuable professional connections and employment opportunities."
Research consistently shows that employers place significant value on practical experience when hiring entry-level candidates and recent graduates.
At JCC, many academic programs incorporate required fieldwork, clinical placements, or internships as part of degree completion. These programs include Addictions Counseling, Administrative Professional, Community Health Worker, Criminal Justice, Direct Support Professional, Early Childhood Education, Health Information Technology, Human Services, Nursing, Occupational Therapy Assistant, and Tourism and Hospitality.
