The air quality in Western New York is still projected to be unhealthy for sensitive groups on Sunday, as the plume of wildfire smoke continues to move across the state. As a result, the New York State DEC and Department of Health have issued another air quality health advisory for that region, as well as Central New York, until midnight. According to the DEC, the Air Quality Index in both regions is projected to exceed 100. The DEC adds that temporary spikes of unhealthy air may affect other regions of the state.
