A Sherman man has been taken into custody after an investigation into an altercation in the village Tuesday afternoon. Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies were called to an unnamed location shortly after 5:30 PM and found that 23-year-old Quimby Tripp allegedly damaged property and obstructed someone's breathing during the incident. Tripp was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment on charges of criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and 4th-degree criminal mischief.
