There's concern with some members of the Dunkirk Common Council over the salary of the city's newly created comptroller position. The first two years of that position will be accounted for through a grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission. Third Ward Councilman Gary Frederickson says he found out that once that grant money is used, the city will pay that position $140,000 annually. Frederickson and Luczkowiak made their comments on a recent edition of WDOE's "Viewpoint" program. The comptroller's position was created through the passage of a local law after city residents voted to abolish the elected treasurer's post last year.
