An educator who spent 50 years teaching in Chautauqua County, including the last 47 years at the BOCES LoGuidice Center in Fredonia, has retired. Bill Chambers, who served as a consultant teacher at LoGuidice, called it a career at the end of the school year. Chambers was hired by Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES in 1976 after earning his degree in Special Education. After three years at the Hewes Educational Center in Ashville, Chambers transferred to LoGuidice, where he would spend the next 47 years. In the latter part of his career, he became the first consultant teacher at LoGuidice, a role that allowed him to work alongside instructors in a variety of Career & Technical Education programs.
