A 911 call helped save the life of a man who was found unresponsive at a location in southern Erie County. According to the Erie County Sheriff's Office, the caller reported last Monday evening that an unattended vehicle had been parked in Boston Forest County Park for several hours. Approximately five hours after searching in dark conditions, efforts were suspended and resumed Tuesday morning. Deputies say the man was located that afternoon about 250 feet off a trail and was unresponsive with shallow breathing and in obvious need of medical attention. Deputies performed basic life-saving measures, which included wrapping the man in a space blanket and administering oxygen, before EMS crews arrived. The man was then taken to a Buffalo-area hospital for treatment. Erie County Forest Rangers, the New York State DEC, State Police, Boston EMS, Erie County EMS, and the Niagara Frontier Search and Rescue Team assisted the Sheriff's Office.
