A Fredonia resident who ran for Chautauqua County Executive last year and made a bid for Congress in 2024 is now eyeing a seat in Albany. Democrat Tom Carle says he's running for New York's 150th Assembly District in the fall. Carle says he originally planned to run for Congress again this year, but with Kevin Stocker and Aaron Gies seeking the Democratic nomination, Carle has instead opted to run for State Assembly. He will be challenging incumbent Republican Andrew Molitor for the seat that represents all of Chautauqua County and part of the Seneca Nation's Cattaraugus Territory. Last year, Carle represented Chautauqua County Legislature District 4; he was appointed to that seat after Susan Parker resigned.
