
Dunkirk city firefighters made a quick stop to a fire at a residence in the city's Fourth Ward late Tuesday night. According to Fire Chief Nick Barter, the call came in shortly after 11:00 PM, with crews arriving at 123 Franklin Avenue. On arrival, they found a small fire at ground level that damaged the side of the house. Barter says the fire was put out with a water extinguisher. No injuries were reported, and investigators have determined that the fire was incendiary in nature. The Dunkirk Police Department is asking that anyone with any information about the fire or any video to contact its dispatch at (716) 366-2266 or its confidential tip line at (716) 363-0313. The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team assisted at the scene.
