Dunkirk city firefighters made a quick stop to a fire at a residence in the city's Fourth Ward late Tuesday night. According to Fire Chief Nick Barter, the call came in shortly after 11:00 PM, with crews arriving at 123 Franklin Avenue. On arrival, they found a small fire at ground level that damaged the side of the house. Barter says the fire was put out with a water extinguisher. No injuries were reported, and investigators have determined that the fire was incendiary in nature. The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team assisted at the scene.
