Jamestown Man Arrested Twice by Dunkirk Police

A Jamestown man is being held in the Chautauqua County Jail following two recent arrests in the City of Dunkirk on consecutive days. On June 24th, Dunkirk Police were called to an address on West Courtney Street during the late afternoon hours on a report that 23-year-old Elijah Keefe was allegedly threatening a female at the address and trying to punch her. Officers say Keefe also had an active warrant out of Dunkirk City Court for unlawful dissemination or publication of an intimate image. Keefe was taken into custody on the warrant and was additionally charged with 2nd-degree harassment. He was released on his own recognizance the next day.

Shortly after Keefe's release, Dunkirk Police were called to the same address on West Courtney Street on a report that Keefe was allegedly trying to break into the victim's vehicle. Keefe fled when officers arrived, but he was located in a nearby residence and taken into custody. Police say Keefe violated an order of protection to stay away from the victim's residence that was put in place due to the previous incident. He was taken to Dunkirk Police headquarters and booked on a charge of 2nd-degree criminal contempt. While being held there, Keefe allegedly tampered with plumbing in the cell, causing an extensive amount of damage. He was additionally charged with 3rd-degree criminal tampering, and additional charges were expected upon completing the assessment of damage. Keefe was remanded to the County Jail on $5,000 bail.
