A Dunkirk man who violated his probation for a conviction on drug-related charges will spend 11 years in state prison. Chautauqua County District Attorney Jason Schmidt says 45-year-old Ronnie Walker also received three years post-release supervision during his sentencing Monday in County Court following a February arrest in Jamestown for three counts of 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count of tampering with physical evidence. Those charges stemmed from a drug raid at 614 East 6th Street on February 26th. Schmidt says that arrest violated the terms of Walker's probation. In May 2023, Walker was arrested on five counts of 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and 2nd-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia following a search warrant executed by the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and the Dunkirk Police Department at 131 Lake Shore Drive East in Dunkirk. Walker later pleaded guilty 3rd-degree attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance and 4th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced in June 2024 to five years probation.
The sentencing was the result of investigative work by the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office, Dunkirk Police Department, Jamestown Police Department, and Chautauqua County Department of Probation.
