Chautauqua County's top cop says his department's investigation into the recent officer-involved shooting in the Town of Mina is nearly complete. However, he says it may still be a while before the New York Attorney General's Office completes its findings, as required by law for any officer-involved shooting in the state. The incident on Mina-French Creek Road on June 18th resulted in the death of 66-year-old Mark Bemis, who was involved in a domestic dispute prior to the shooting. Quattrone says he's confident there was no wrongdoing on the part of deputies...
Jim Quattrone: deputies did everything right
Quattrone also told us that the deputy who was injured in the exchange of gunfire with Bemis is expected to make a full recovery, but will not be able to physically return to duty until the fall.
