County Urges Local Residents to Take Steps to Stay Cool During Heat Wave

As hot and humid conditions continue to grip Western New York for the next couple of days, Chautauqua County officials and agencies are urging local residents to take steps to stay safe. County Executive P.J. Wendel, who was a guest on WDOE's "Viewpoint" program on Monday, says one way you can stay cool is find a nearby cooling center. He says there's a list available on the County Health Department's website...

The Health Department also advised check on high-risk people like infants and young children, people 65 and older, those who are overweight, and people who are physically ill. A heat advisory remains in effect until 6:00 PM Tuesday.
