Two Jamestown men were taken into custody on drug charges following a report of a suspicious vehicle in the driveway of a residence on the city's south side Sunday evening. Jamestown Police responded to the scene at about 7:30 PM and spoke with Steven Bates and David Blakey. While doing so, officers saw numerous items related to drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. A subsequent search located a quantity of methamphetamine, fentanyl, cutting agents, and a digital scale. Once they were in custody, Blakey was also allegedly found to possess additional quantities of packaged fentanyl. Blakey and Bates were both charged with 3rd- and 5th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of 2nd-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. The two were held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
