
Jamestown Police have arrested a Falconer man on felony charges following an investigation into an assault on the city's east side Sunday morning. Officers were called to an address on Willard Street at about 10:15 AM and saw a victim with serious facial injuries on the sidewalk. According to police, further investigation found that 34-year-old David Rodriguez punched the victim in the face with a knife in his hand at a nearby residence. Officers then went to the residence and found Rodriguez, who was taken into custody without further incident. While at the residence, officers also found that Rodriguez was allegedly in violation of two separate orders of protection. He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and held pending arraignment on one count of 1st-degree assault, one count of 3rd-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and two counts of 1st-degree criminal contempt. Police add that the victim of the incident was transported by Alstar Ambulance to UPMC Chautauqua for further treatment. Jamestown Fire and Chautauqua County EMS also assisted at the scene.
