Dunkirk Celebrates Juneteenth for 29th Year

This year marks the fifth year that Juneteenth has been recognized as a federal holiday, and there continues to be interest from local residents about what the holiday means. That's according to Loretta Torain, chair of the Northern Chautauqua Juneteenth Committee, who spoke with WDOE News at Dunkirk's 29th annual Juneteenth celebration at Memorial Park. She says a lot of people have been asking questions about the holiday that marked the end of slavery in the United States...

Hours for Sunday will be 12:00-6:00 PM. Torain says all activities are family-friendly, and anyone is welcome to attend.
