The Alzheimer's Association Western New York chapter recently announced that Shannon Rozner will be the chair of this year's Walk to End Alzheimer's in Chautauqua County. The 2025 walk will be held on Saturday, October 18th at Point Gratiot Park in Dunkirk. Rozner is Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Chautauqua Institution.
Rozner says, "I am honored to serve as the event chair and participate in the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer's. I hope we can raise awareness about all the amazing resources available to Chautauqua County residents living with dementia and of course raise funds to help end it. I will take this short walk on October 18 to honor my in-laws who each battled different types of dementia and to show solidarity with all the caregivers I know who walk this difficult journey with their loved ones every day."
The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research programs. On Walk day, participants honor those affected by Alzheimer's with the poignant Promise Garden ceremony -- a mission-focused experience that signifies our solidarity in the fight against the disease. During the ceremony, walkers will carry flowers of various colors, each color representing their personal connection to the disease.
