
A call for a burglary in progress in Jamestown led to the arrest of a city man who was reportedly caught in the act. Jamestown Police responded to a business on the city's west side at about 7:30 AM Wednesday, when the business owner saw the suspect and was able to point him out to officers as he fled. Officers identified the man as 43-year-old Joseph Helms, who had allegedly entered the garage of the business during the early morning hours and stole more than $3,000 worth of items. Helms was charged with 3rd-degree burglary, 3rd-degree grand larceny and possession of burglar's tools.
