The results of a Siena College poll released this week show improvement in Governor Kathy Hochul's favorability, job approval and re-elect ratings, but her numbers remain underwater in terms of re-election prospects. The poll, conducted April 14-16, finds that Hochul's favorability rating made an 11-point swing; it stands at 44-43%, up from 40-50% in March. Her job approval rating climbed into positive territory, reaching 48-45%; that's five points better than her March rating of 46-48%. When it comes to the 2026 election, 39% of voters polled said they are prepared to re-elect Hochul, while 48% want someone else. Those figures improved from 34-56% in March. A total of 802 registered New York voters responded to the poll, which has an overall margin of error of +/- 4.4 percentage points.
