Jamestown City Council to Consider Bonding Measures for BPU Projects

City lawmakers in Jamestown will vote next week on a pair of resolutions allowing the Board of Public Utilities to borrow money for three new projects. City Council Finance Committee Chairman Brent Sheldon says the panel first approved the BPU borrowing $1.65 million for two projects; one of them is $900,000 for improvements to the wastewater treatment plant and $750,000 towards a new gasoline/diesel fueling station. Sheldon says the city has already okay chipping in American Rescue Plan funds for that project...

Sheldon says the Finance Committee also approved allowing the BPU to borrow up to $27 million for a new water pump station, which will include a new tank, hydrochloronation station, and generator and electric service. He adds that BPU General Manager Dave Leathers spoke to lawmakers in some detail about the measures two weeks ago.
