Jamestown Police arrested an 18-year-old city man after he was allegedly seen illegally operating a mini bike on a city street early Monday afternoon. Officers were patrolling the area of Prendergast Avenue at about 12:15 PM when they saw the man riding the mini bike with a gas engine. They tried to stop the vehicle, which was being operated by Braden Hagberg, but he allegedly disregarded the emergency lights and siren. He then rode the vehicle into his driveway and onto his backyard, then allegedly tried to hide it inside his shed in order to prevent officers from taking it. Officers say Hagberg refused to comply after being given multiple verbal commands to turn over the mini bike. He was taken into custody and charged with 2nd-degree obstruction, unregistered motorcycle, uninspected motor vehicle, and failure to yield for an emergency vehicle. Hagberg was released with an appearance ticket, and his mini bike was towed because it was not legal to operate it on city streets.
