Union workers at a local nursing home are in the middle of talks over a new contract, and they want to see better working conditions. 1199SEIU held an informational picket Wednesday afternoon at the Dunkirk Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility as part of a coordinated campaign involving 27 nursing homes across Western New York. WDOE News spoke with Traci Finch, an administrative organizer with SEIU. She says the caregivers at the facility want -- among other things -- better staffing and fair wages...

A majority of the contracts covering nearly 4,000 employees across the 27 regional facilities will expire at the end of April. Finch tells us that there has been some movement at the bargaining table, but she says they would like to see more progress...
