Fredonia Village Board Sets Hearings for Budget with Proposed 55% Tax Hike

The Village of Fredonia has set a series of special meetings with department heads to discuss the village's proposed 2025-2026 budget. A total of five budget hearings were approved during Monday's Board of Trustees meeting, with the first one scheduled for Thursday. James Lynden: have to cut expanses dramatically
WDOE News first reported last Friday that Ferguson's proposal would raise property taxes by nearly 55%. Lynden also warned trustees that if they don't reduce spending, an even larger tax increase would have to be made the following year. Ferguson's proposal calls for a spending increase of roughly $840,000 from this year's budget. A public hearing will be scheduled after the five budget hearings are completed.
