A major chunk of federal funding will be used for a critical project at Dunkirk Harbor. Congressman Nick Langworthy held a press conference late Thursday morning at the City Pier to announce that $4.75 million has been secured in the Homeland Security Appropriations Bill that will be used towards a segmented "living shoreline" design and construction project to protect the harbor from increasingly frequent severe weather events.
