A Silver Creek man was charged after he rear-ended a marked police vehicle in the Town of Brant late Thursday night. Evans Town Police say the incident occurred shortly after 10:45 PM on Route 5, where they were conducting a traffic stop on a different vehicle. Officers say a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Joseph Burridge struck the back of a patrol vehicle that reportedly had its emergency lights activated. Burridge was charged with DWI and failure to avoid a collision with an emergency vehicle, and he later refused to submit to a breath test. Burridge was released on summonses. The officer involved in the crash was taken to ECMC for evaluation and was released from the hospital early Friday morning.
