Hundreds of volunteer fire departments across New York State are participating in RecruitNY weekend, where those departments open their doors in an effort to recruit new members. RecruitNY is an initiative presented by the Firefighters Association of the State of New York (FASNY). There are multiple volunteer departments in Chautauqua County that will open their doors to the public for the weekend -- they include Chautauqua, Findley Lake, Forestville, Kennedy, Silver Creek and Sunset Bay.
Dates and times for the open houses:
- Chautauqua: Saturday, 2:00-5:00 PM
- Findley Lake: Saturday
- Forestville: Sunday, 10:00 AM-2:00 PM
- Kennedy: Saturday and Sunday
- Silver Creek: Saturday, 10:00 AM-2:00 PM
- Sunset Bay: Saturday, 10:00 AM-2:00 PM
