Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies charged a Sherman man with felony drug and weapon possession counts after a traffic stop late Monday night. Deputies pulled over a vehicle for a violation in the village just before midnight, with an investigation leading to the arrest of 41-year-old Allan Detweiler for a violation of an order of protection. Narcotics investigators acquired a search warrant for Detweiler's residence at 3969 Route 76 and seized 178 grams of methamphetamine, scales and packaging material for the sale and distribution of narcotics, a loaded revolver and seven rifles. Detweiler was charged with 2nd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and 2nd-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.
