A public school district and a BOCES that serve Chautauqua County will receive state funding to address pandemic learning loss and provide students with mental health support. Governor Kathy Hochul announced Wednesday that the Dunkirk City School District has been awarded a $290,572 grant through the Mental Health Recover from COVID School (RECOVS) Program. Meanwhile, Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES will get a combined $1,031,944 in RECOVS grants -- $667,742 for pandemic learning loss and $364,202 for mental health support. A total of $100 million was awarded to a combined 50 school districts and BOCES across the state.
