The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a winter storm watch for Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and southern Erie counties from 1:00 AM Monday through 1:00 AM Wednesday. Forecasters say heavy lake effect snow is possible during that time, with accumulations of seven or more inches possible in the most persistent lake snows. Winds could gust as high as 40 MPH, causing blowing and drifting snow. Travel could be very difficult to impossible.
