Local Veteran Opens Military Uniform Exhibit at Dunkirk Historical Museum

A local veteran who has collected military gear his entire life is taking advantage of Veterans Day to display some of his collection in a new, temporary exhibit at the Dunkirk Historical Museum. Matthew Sutton joined the U.S. Army in 1998 and served 21 years there before returning to the Dunkirk-Fredonia area. His exhibit, which opened on Friday during a special open house, features various United States military uniforms dating back to World War I...

Matthew Sutton: ties with Dunkirk's history

Sutton, who is now a volunteer at the museum, says everything in the display is original with the exception of one pair of shoes and replica weapons. The exhibit will be available through the end of November.
