County Health Department Lifts Boil Water Order in Fredonia

The boil water order that has been in effect for Fredonia water customers since late Sunday morning has now been lifted. The Chautauqua County Health Department made the announcement Wednesday afternoon after a second round of bacterial testing was completed. The results found that water throughout the distribution system is safe for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, making coffee, etc. All plumbing lines that have not been used regularly since the boil water went into effect should be flushed before water from that line is consumed. This includes ice makers and refrigerator water dispensers.
