Jamestown Police May Blotter

The Jamestown Police Department reported the following arrests during the month of May:

On May 10th, Jamestown Police conducted a traffic stop on the city's north side shortly after 1:15 AM. An investigation determined that 33-year-old Devonte Hampton was allegedly driving the vehicle with a suspended license and violating an order of protection. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and 2nd-degree criminal contempt.

On May 12th, officers patrolling Jamestown's north side saw 46-year-old Jessica Wolfgang at about 9:30 PM. Wolfgang, who was known to be wanted by Pennsylvania State Parole, was taken into custody as a fugitive from justice.

On May 12th, 33-year-old Andrew Cowan was charged with DWI and several traffic tickets after a traffic stop at the intersection of Washington Street and West 14th Street. Jamestown Police pulled over a vehicle shortly after 11:30 PM and determined that Cowan was allegedly under the influence of alcohol while driving.

On May 14th, Jamestown Police were patrolling the city's north side at about 7:30 PM, when they saw 40-year-old Esteban Cordova, who was known to be wanted by the Bucks County Sheriff's Office in Pennsylvania. He was taken into custody on a fugitive from justice charge.

On May 16th, officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Foote Avenue and Bush Place at about 2:15 AM. Further investigation revealed that 32-year-old Courtney Mason of Frewsburg was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. She was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI, and additional traffic violations.

On May 16th, 24-year-old homeless resident Taylor Bentley was taken into custody on a charge of 3rd-degree criminal trespass. Jamestown Police responded to an address on Cross Street shortly after 1:30 PM regarding a female inside a residence. On arrival, officers determined that the residence had been condemned, and Bentley was seen exiting through a side window.

On May 18th, Jamestown Police pulled over a vehicle at the intersection of West 8th Street and Jefferson Street for an observed violation shortly after 12:30 AM. An investigation determined that the driver, 52-year-old Thomas Matjoulis of Ashville was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. He was charged with DWI and several traffic tickets.

On May 19th, Jamestown Police conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Fluvanna Avenue and Homestead Avenue shortly before 2:15 AM. Further investigation revealed that 27-year-old Molly Preston was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. She was charged with DWI and other traffic violations.

On May 22nd, 27-year-old Alesha Matthews was charged with DWI and traffic violations in the city's downtown area. Jamestown Police stopped a vehicle in the area of East 3rd Street and North Main Street at about 12:15 AM and determined that Matthews was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated.

On May 22nd, officers were called to a domestic dispute on the city's south side shortly after 12:45 AM. They determined that 53-year-old Michael Cook had allegedly violated an order of protection by pushing and kicking the female victim. Cook was taken into custody and charged with two counts of 1st-degree criminal contempt.

On May 22nd, Jamestown Police arrested 40-year-old Erick Gifford on a charge of DWAI-drugs. Officers responded to a business in the Foote Avenue Plaza shortly after 12:45 AM for a report of a male slumped over the wheel of a vehicle in the parking lot. An investigation determined that Gifford had allegedly been operating the vehicle while impaired by drugs.

On May 22nd, 38-year-old Ross Costanzo was taken into custody on charges of DWI and several traffic tickets. Officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Harrison Street and Winsor Street shortly after 1:45 AM for an observed violation. During the investigation, Costanzo was allegedly found to be operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

On May 23rd, officers stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Washington Street and West 15th Street shortly after 2:00 AM. A subsequent investigation found that the driver, 29-year-old Telly Ortiz-Loveless, was allegedly intoxicated. He was charged with DWI and additional traffic violations.

On May 23rd, Jamestown Police were patrolling the area of West 7th Street and Washington Street at about 11:45 PM and pulled over a vehicle for observed infractions. Officers found that David Lewis, Jr. was allegedly operating the vehicle an intoxicated state. He was charged with felony DWI, aggravated DWI, 1st-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and operating outside of an ignition interlock device restriction.

On May 24th, officers were patrolling the city's south side shortly after 1:15 AM, when they saw a vehicle commit a traffic violation. An investigation determined that the driver, Samuel Laih of Pennsylvania, was allegedly intoxicated. He was charged with DWI and was also issued traffic tickets.

On May 25th, Jamestown Police arrested 25-year-old Tizon Moreland following a domestic incident on the city's north side. Officers responded to the scene shortly after 7:15 PM and found that Moreland, who had multiple confirmed warrants out of Jamestown City Court, had fled the scene before they arrived. Moreland was quickly located near the scene, and he led officers on a brief foot pursuit. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle and charged with resisting arrest and 2nd-degree obstruction, in addition to his warrants.

On May 25th, officers responded to a report of a guest causing a disturbance at a downtown hotel at about 11:30 PM. The guest, 57-year-old Lynette Johnson, was uncooperative and refused to leave the hotel after she was asked to do so. While police tried to remove Johnson, she allegedly began pulling away. She was taken into custody after a brief struggle and charged with trespassing, resisting arrest, and 2nd-degree obstruction.

On May 26th, Jamestown Police were responding to a domestic dispute shortly after 3:00 AM, when they saw 39-year-old Shawn Paprocki walking downtown. Officers, aware that Paprocki had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, tried to stop him, but he fled on foot. He was taken into custody and charged with resisting arrest, in addition to his warrant.

On May 28th, 51-year-old Daniel Baird was charged with 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and an arrest warrant. Jamestown Police conducted a street check on Baird on North Main Street at about 11:30 AM and were aware of his active warrant. He was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was allegedly found to possess a small quantity of methamphetamine.
