The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office has announced the following arrests for drunk driving in April:
On April 3rd, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the Town of Hanover shortly before 1:00 AM. Further investigation found that the driver, 50-year-old Jason Leone, was allegedly intoxicated. He was charged with DWI and having an unreadable license plate.
On April 9th, the Sheriff's Office responded to a trespassing call in the Town of Harmony. An investigation led to the arrest of 58-year-old Scott Sarver of Ashville for DWI. He was released with traffic tickets.
On April 11th, deputies saw a suspicious situation on Route 430 in the Town of Chautauqua. An investigation identified one of the drivers as 43-year-old Thomas Zemcik of Mayville, who was allegedly found to be intoxicated. He was charged with DWI and released with appearance tickets.
On April 18th, a traffic stop on Eagle Street in the Village of Fredonia shortly after 2:15 AM led to the arrest of 23-year-old Alaynea Grover of Dunkirk. Sheriff's deputies say an investigation found that Grover was driving her vehicle while intoxicated. She was charged with DWI, 3rd-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and no/improper signal.
On April 18th, a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Justin Smith of South Dayton was pulled over after running a stop sign in the Town of Hanover shortly after 2:00 PM. Deputies discovered that Smith was allegedly intoxicated. He was charged with DWI.
On April 26th, deputies stopped a vehicle in the Town of Hanover shortly after 10:45 PM. Further investigation found that 30-year-old Brian DiLorenzo, Jr. of Dunkirk was allegedly driving while intoxicated. He was charged with DWI, speeding, and open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
