A Westfield man with an outstanding bench warrant was taken into custody late Friday morning following an investigation into a suspicious situation in Moore Park in the village. Westfield Police say a concerned citizen reported that two people were using drugs in plain view at the gazebo shortly after 10:30 AM. Officers, along with Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies, responded to the scene and found that 34-year-old Daniel Geiger was allegedly in possession of drug paraphernalia and appeared to be impaired. Police say a search located a small quantity of fentanyl in Geiger's possession. Officers also found out about his active warrant, which was from the Town of Evans Police Department in Erie County. Geiger was charged with 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and was issued an appearance ticket for Westfield Town Court. He was then turned over to Evans Town Police on his warrant.
