Jamestown Police March Blotter

The Jamestown Police Department announced the following arrests during the month of March:

On March 1st, officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of East 5th Street and Spring Street shortly after 1:45 AM. Officers determined that 28-year-old Esai Vazquez was allegedly driving the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Vazquez was also found to have several active bench warrants out of Jamestown City Court. He was charged with DWI and several traffic citations, in addition to his warrants.

On March 3rd, officers stopped a vehicle in the area of North Main Street and Fluvanna Avenue shortly before 2:00 AM for infractions. The driver, 63-year-old John Gelencser, was allegedly found to be under the influence of drugs and in possession of a quantity of cocaine. He was charged with driving while under the influence of drugs, 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and multiple traffic tickets.

On March 3rd, Jamestown Police responded to a domestic dispute on the city's south side at about 4:00 PM. While investigating, officers came across 61-year-old William Dunlap, Jr. in his residence and also saw another person inside when he opened the door. Police were told that the person inside had an active stay-away order of protection against Dunlap. As a result, Dunlap was charged with 2nd-degree criminal contempt.

On March 5th, a trespassing complaint led to the arrest of 26-year-old Nathaniel Walsh. According to Jamestown Police, officers were called to an address to an address on the city's west side shortly after 12:45 PM and discovered that Walsh allegedly walked into the victim's residence without permission. He was charged with 2nd-degree criminal trespass.

On March 10th, Jamestown Police responded to an address on the city's north side for an order of protection complaint. 39-year-old Danielle Braun and 35-year-old Vanessa Stevens were allegedly found in violation of a stay-away order of protection. Officers also found that Stevens allegedly threatened multiple people within the residence. Braun was charged with 2nd-degree criminal contempt, while Stevens was charged with 2nd-degree harassment.

On March 10th, officers patrolling the area of Forest Avenue saw 50-year-old James Lindsay III at about 7:30 PM. They were aware that Lindsay had active warrants from the City of Jamestown and from Warren County, Pennsylvania. He was taken into custody, and officers recovered a small quantity of crack cocaine from his person. Lindsay was charged with 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and being a fugitive from justice, in addition to his Jamestown warrant.

On March 11th, 38-year-old Timothy Cook was taken into custody after an investigation into a reported domestic dispute on the city's east side. Officers responded to the scene at about 7:30 PM and found that Cook had an outstanding warrant for his arrest of out Pennsylvania. Following his arrest, a search of Cook's person revealed that he was allegedly in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine. He was subsequently charged with being a fugitive from justice and 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

On March 12th, Jamestown Police responded to a domestic dispute on the city's south side at about 10:45 PM. Further investigation found that 20-year-olds Ashley Nazario-Santiago and Joseph Hernandez-Soto both allegedly damaged property belonging to each other. The two were charged with 3rd-degree criminal mischief.

On March 13th, officers were called to an address on the city's south side for a domestic dispute shortly after 10:30 AM. An investigation determined that 43-year-old Pedro Cruz allegedly violated a duly served stay-away order of protection by harassing the protected party while a child was in close proximity. Cruz was charged with two counts of 1st-degree criminal contempt, plus one count each of endangering the welfare of a child and 2nd-degree harassment.

On March 13th, officers responded to an address on the city's south side for a domestic dispute at about 11:00 PM. 38-year-old Tristan McCallar was allegedly discovered to have knocked the victim's phone out of her hand, causing damage to the phone. McCallar was charged with 4th-degree criminal mischief.
