The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office has announced the following arrests related to drunk driving in March:
On March 5th, sheriff's deputies stopped a vehicle for an alleged violation in the Town of Pomfret shortly after 10:15 PM. An investigation found that the driver, 41-year-old Kenneth Blendowski of the Town of Hamburg, was allegedly intoxicated. Blendowski was charged with DWI and multiple traffic tickets.
On March 15th, deputies on routine patrol pulled over a vehicle for an alleged violation on Route 60 in the Town of Pomfret. An investigation found that 35-year-old Keshia Lindquist of Dunkirk was allegedly driving the vehicle was intoxicated. She was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI, and operating a motor vehicle with no taillights.
On March 18th, a vehicle driven by 70-year-old Barbara Phillips of Angola was stopped on Routes 5 and 20 in the Town of Hanover at about 9:00 PM. According to the Sheriff's Office, Phillips was found to be intoxicated. She was charged with DWI and no front license plate.
On March 20th, 39-year-old Frank Rivera-Montero of Fredonia was stopped for speeding on Main Street in the Village of Fredonia shortly after 12:45 AM. Sheriff's deputies say an investigation found that he was driving while impaired by drugs. Rivera-Montero was charged with speeding, DWAI-drugs, and 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
On March 22th, deputies conducted a traffic stop on West 3rd Street in Jamestown shortly after 1:00 AM. Further investigation found that 42-year-old James Schultz of Lakewood was allegedly driving with a BAC more than twice the legal limit. He was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI, and no distinctive plate/insecure/dirty.
On March 28th, a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Giovanni Collver of Falconer was pulled over on Fairmount Avenue in West Ellicott at about 1:45 AM. Sheriff's deputies say further investigation found that Collver was allegedly intoxicated. He was charged with DWI, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, speeding, and no/inadequate lights.
On March 29th, deputies pulled over a vehicle near the intersection of Allegany Road and Routes 5 and 20 in the Town of Hanover shortly after 1:30 AM. Further investigation found that 62-year-old Carl Herb of the Town of Hanover was allegedly driving while intoxicated. He was charged with DWI, no/inadequate headlamps, and no/inadequate plate lamps.
On March 29th, a traffic stop on Route 60 in the Town of Pomfret resulted in the arrest of 21-year-old Ryan Fitzgerald of Jamestown. According to the Sheriff's Office, a vehicle driven by Fitzgerald was pulled over at about 2:30 AM, and he was allegedly found to be intoxicated. He was charged with DWI and no/inadequate lights.
