Jamestown Police February Blotter

The Jamestown Police Department announced the following arrests during the month of February:

On February 2nd, officers responded to CVS in Brooklyn Square for a shoplifting in progress shortly before 11:30 PM. 42-year-old Amanda Ferguson was allegedly found to have stolen merchandise belonging to the store. She was located a short distance away, and officers were able to retrieve the items, one of which had been damaged and therefore unavailable for re-sale. Ferguson was charged with petit larceny and 4th-degree criminal mischief.

On February 5th, Jamestown Police were called to a trespassing complaint on the city's shortly after 11:00 AM at a residence that had been condemned by the Department of Development. Officers say they heard someone inside that refused to come out. They located 37-year-old Gabrielle Post hiding in the garage. She was arraigned on a charge of 3rd-degree criminal trespass.

On February 6th, 59-year-old Vincent Jones of Bemus Point was arrested after officers were called to an investigation into a fire at an apartment complex on the city's north side shortly after 3:00 PM. According to police, Jones was seen at the complex and was in an apartment with a victim who has a valid stay-away order of protection. He was also allegedly found to possess quantity of a methamphetamine/fentanyl mixture. Jones was charged with 2nd-degree criminal contempt and 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

On February 7th, Jamestown Police responded to a domestic dispute on the city's north side just before 5:15 PM. An investigation found that an argument had occurred between the victim and 39-year-old Corey Bryant. Officers say Bryant damaged an interior door by kicking it while in the presence of a minor under the age of 17. He was charged with 4th-degree criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child.

On February 12th, officers were called to a shoplifting on the city's north side at about 2:00 AM. On arrival, they were informed that 58-year-old Debra Leeper had allegedly stolen two bags of cat treats, then fled the area in a vehicle. Police located the vehicle a short time later, and Leeper -- still in possession of the treats -- was taken into custody without incident. She was charged with petit larceny and issued an appearance ticket.

On February 17th, Jamestown Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction in the area of Crescent Street and Cheney Street at about 1:15 AM. An investigation found that 42-year-old Joseph Piazza was allegedly driving while under the influence of drugs. He was charged with DWAI-drugs and multiple traffic tickets.

On February 17th, officers were called to a domestic dispute on Camp Street shortly after 9:30 AM. An investigation found that 42-year-old Benjamin Nelson had an active bench warrant out of Warren County, Pennsylvania for retail theft. He was arraigned on the warrant and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.

On February 17th, Jamestown Police responded to an address on the city's east side for a domestic incident shortly after 11:00 AM. On arrival, officers discovered that 27-year-old Tyler Devlieger allegedly prevented a female from leaving the residence when she tried to so multiple times. Devlieger was charged with 2nd-degree unlawful imprisonment.

On February 18th, 56-year-old Michael Pacheco and 43-year-old Amy Robbins were taken into custody after an investigation into a shoplifting at a business on the city's south side. Jamestown Police responded to the scene at about 3:00 PM on a report that a male, later identified as Pacheco, had entered the store and stolen a 12-pack of Pepsi and an Everyday Essentials Make-Up set, then quickly fled. Officers located Pacheco in the area; he was with Robbins, who was allegedly holding a 12-pack of Pepsi and drinking a can in her other hand. Pacheco also allegedly possessed the stolen make-up set. Pacheco was charged with petit larceny and 5th-degree criminal possession of stolen property, while Robbins was charged with 5th-degree criminal possession of stolen property and 4th-degree criminal mischief.

On February 20th, Jamestown Police pulled over a vehicle in the area of North Main Street and West Oak Hill Road at about 2:45 AM and found that the driver, 36-year-old Christopher Morton, was allegedly under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs. Officers also found that he allegedly possessed 6.5 grams of cocaine. Morton was charged with DWAI and 5th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

On February 20th, 49-year-old Stephanie Green was placed into custody at Jamestown City Hall for an active bench warrant. Officers walked Green to the jail, and an inventory of her property was being completed when they located quantities of suboxone and methamphetamine in her pocket. She was additionally charged with two counts of 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

On February 25th, officers responded to a domestic dispute at the 7-Eleven on North Main Street at about 3:30 AM. An investigation found that 41-year-old Brian Nowak had a warrant from the Dunkirk Police Department. He was also allegedly in possession of buprenorphine and diazepam. Nowak was charged with two counts of 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

On February 25th, Jamestown Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Linden Avenue near Forest Avenue for an observed infraction shortly after 7:30 PM. 64-year-old Debra Maldonado, who was in the passenger seat, was known to have an active arrest warrant. She was taken into custody, and officers add that after a search of her person, they located a quantity of methamphetamine in her purse. Maldonado was charged with her warrant and one count of 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

On February 26th, Jamestown Police pulled over a vehicle in the area of Barrett Avenue and Cowden Place for an observed traffic infraction shortly before 1:15 AM. An investigation found that 55-year-old Thomas Odell was allegedly driving the vehicle while intoxicated. He was charged with DWI and other traffic infractions.

On February 27th, 50-year-old Richard Barr was taken into custody on outstanding warrants. According to Jamestown Police, officers were patrolling the area of Brooklyn Square just before 12:45 PM and saw Barr. A search of him resulted in the discovery of a quantity of methamphetamine on his person. In addition to his warrants, Barr was charged with 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
