An investigation into a larceny from a building in the Town of Dunkirk had led to the arrest of a Portland woman. According to State Police from the SP Fredonia barracks, 26-year-old Melinda Monroe faces a felony count of 5th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing cocaine. She was also charged with petit larceny and 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Troopers say the charges stem from an incident that occurred on January 16th. Monroe was arrested Wednesday afternoon and issued an appearance ticket.
