Ariel Alvarado, Jr., 61, of Dunkirk died suddenly on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo. He was born on February 23, 1961 in Jayuya, Puerto Rico to the late Ariel Alvarado, Sr. and Gladys Rivera, who died in January.
Ariel, also know as "Jerry," had been a farm worker in the Fredonia and Dunkirk areas.
Jerry was a man who was loved by many. He enjoyed fishing, fixing bicycles, and installing music onto his bikes. He also enjoyed going to the casino. But most of all, he loved being with his family and friends.
Ariel suffered a long time with a serious health condition, but it never stopped him from being himself and showing love to others.
Ariel is survived by his two sisters, Evelyn Molina and Miriam Rivera; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and many friends whom he dearly loved. Besides his parents, Ariel was preceded in death by his son, Luis Alvarado; and his brother, Carlos Alvarado.
Ariel was comfortable when it was time for him to be with his mother, father, son, brother, and his other Mama Santa.
Ariel's viewing will be on Thursday, February 23 from 5:00-7:00 PM. His funeral service will be on Friday, February 24 at 11:00 AM at the Fantauzzi Funeral Home, 82 East Main Street in Fredonia. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Dunkirk.
