
The U.S. Senate on Tuesday approved the tax policy package that Republicans have dubbed the "One, Big Beautiful Bill." After a marathon voting session that lasted more than 26 hours, the Senate passed the massive measure by the slimmest of margins. Three GOP senators voted against it, but Vice President J.D. Vance cast the tie-breaking vote in favor. The bill now goes back to the House, where conservatives and moderates have their own issues with some of the changes that have been made by the Senate, including a $5 trillion increase in the debt ceiling, and a Congressional Budget Office price tag in excess of $3 trillion. While touring a new migrant detention facility in Florida, the President said he was pleased with the results.
