Three Jamestown residents were taken into custody as the result of a drug raid early Monday afternoon on the city's south side. Members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at the upper apartment of 341 Forest Avenue shortly after 12:15 PM with assistance from the Jamestown Police SWAT Team. Officers say 18-year-old Gerald Samuels, Jr., 19-year-old Janya Samuels, 21-year-old Simeon Leeper, Jr. and a two-year-old child were located inside the residence. Detectives searched the apartment and found 12.3 grams of crack cocaine inside the kitchen. The two Samuels and Leeper -- who is currently on New York State Parole -- were taken to the Jamestown City Jail, where Gerald Samuels was also allegedly found to possess 9.2 grams of fentanyl. All three suspects were charged with endangering the welfare of a child, and Gerald Samuels was also charged with 4th- and 5th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. The three are being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office, Dunkirk Police Department and Jamestown Fire Department assisted at the scene.
