Dunkirk Dave predicts six more weeks of winter weather

February 2, Groundhog Day, is here. And a number of groundhogs around the nation have made their prediction. Locally, Dunkirk Dave issued his forecast regarding the arrival of spring. While he did not do it in public because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dave's handler Bob Will says the weather prophet ventured outside his warm, comfy home and had some oatmeal and made his forecast...six more weeks of winter weather...

Punxsutawney Phil, Dave's counterpart in Pennsylvania, also predicted that there won't be an early spring this year. Will says Dunkirk Dave's accuracy is nearly 90 percent.
