As New York State continues its reopening process, Governor Andrew Cuomo is easing a restriction on churches and other places of worship. During Saturday's COVID-19 briefing, Cuomo announced that starting Sunday, places of worship will be permitted to reopen with 25% occupancy with all social distancing protocols in place in the regions that are in Phase 2 of reopening, which includes Western New York. Cuomo's announcement came on a day that reported 35 COVID-19 deaths statewide in the last 24 hours, a record low since the pandemic began.
Cuomo also announced an executive order allowing commercial buildings to conduct temperature checks for anyone entering the building as office workers begin to return to the workplace.
