Don Imus, a legend of talk radio, passed away on Friday at a hospital in Texas at the age of 79. Imus, who was known as a "shock jock," leaves behind a 50-year career defined by his biting style of humor and satire. He was also a controversial figure, sometimes pushing the boundaries of radio's censors and, to some, good taste. In 2007, Imus was fired by CBS thanks to his use of a racial slur in referring to the Rutgers University women's basketball team. In his later years, he founded the Imus Ranch program for kids with cancer.
