Buffalo Diocese Releases Final List of Church, Parish Closings and Mergers

The Diocese of Buffalo has released its list of final decisions regarding church and parish closings and mergers across Western New York. In a press release issued on Tuesday, the diocese announced that 118 out of its 196 worship sites will remain open after the closing/merger process. Crews Respond to House Fire in Sunset Bay

Firefighters are at the scene of a house fire in Sunset Bay. Chautauqua County dispatchers confirmed that crews from Sunset Bay and Silver Creek were called to a residence at 12839 Pleasant Avenue shortly before 5:15 AM Wednesday. Silver Creek firefighters made quick work of a shed fire in the village Tuesday evening. Crews were called to a location on Division Street shortly after 6:45 PM and saw heavy fire to an outdoor storage shed behind the residence.
